Bind Error - 10048

If you see this 10048 message or something similar:

Windows socket error: (10048) on API 'bind'

...then it means there is already a web server running on the computer. Normally, only one webserver can run at any one time on a computer.

You have three choices:

  • Stop the other web server before starting NetSeries.
  • Run NetSeries on another computer that does not have an existing web server running.
  • Configure NetSeries to run using another port (see the User Guide below).

Webservers such as Apache and Microsoft Internet Information Server (ISS) run as a service, which means that they do not always appear in the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen, and can run even when you are logged out of your computer. If you are not sure about services then ask your technician before closing any.
