My picture / sound / video is missing

If a Screen File uses an imported picture, a sound or a video file then Question Tools has to keep a link between the Question File and the resource file (the sound, image or video). It does this with two links. One is an absolute address, and this specifies the exact location of the file. The second is a relative link, and this specifies the path from the Screen File to the resource file.

Question Tools Editor, together with other Question Tools applications, uses the relative link first. If it cannot find a file by combining the location of the screen file with the relative link, then it will try to use the absolute link to the resource file.

As a result, you will find that links between files and resources are broken much less often if you keep resource files in the same folder as the screen files. Alternatively, keep a folder for resource files in the same folder as the screen files.
