NetSeries Types of User

Guests. Anyone can connect to a web site provided by a NetSeries application and access any messages, tests, surveys, lessons or courses that have been made available for guest access.

Users/Students/Learners. Users, once they have logged on can access more than just the guest content. Users can either see all content, or just the content to which their membership of usergroups gives them access. Users can be made members of one or more user groups. Users can see their own results (if this has been allowed).

Tutors. As you might expect, tutors can create content, user groups, user accounts, and see results. However, unless the options in Settings->Rights are set to the all tutors can manage all content, then tutors can only see their own content, as well as the results for that content. In this way tutors have a degree of privacy from other tutors. Tutors own content and user groups. Tests, surveys, lessons and courses, as well as user groups, can be owned by more than one tutor.

Learning Managers. Someone has to be able to see all content, and learning managers can see any content in an account, any user group and any result. They can also create new leaning managers, tutors and users.

Service Manager. A service manager has all of the rights of a Learning Manager, but has the added advantage that a service manager cannot be deleted by a Learning Manager. Service Managers have access to a number of setting controls. Service managers also have an important role in NetEnterprise, which has the capability to run multiple accounts. Learning Managers belong to accounts, and can only see users, content and results from their own account. Service Managers can create accounts, and switch between them.

A note about results

When users take tests or surveys their results are saved. If a tutor, learning manager or service manager takes a test or survey the results are not saved. This allows tutors and above to check content without adding to and polluting the results with their own scores.
